Green Smoothie

This green smoothie is packed full of goodness and has amazing health benefits. It’s a meal in a glass, the perfect way to start the day! Kale is rich in vitamins & minerals A, C, K, folate, calcium, potassium, copper and iron. Parsley will help flush out excess fluid, supporting kidney function. Lemon juice is added to alkalise; chia seeds will give you your omega 3, additional fibre and protein, while green powder gives it that superfood kick! Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 3 stalks of kale (discard the tough stalks, and use the leaves)
  • A bunch of parsley
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cup of water (or coconut water)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 1 tsp green powder (spirulina, barley grass, or wheat grass)
  • Preparation

    Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.

    Don’t have kale? Not to worry, spinach also works great in this smoothie. Try adding a frozen banana. Other delicious additions to smoothie are: mint, avocado, hemp seeds, maca powder, and bee pollen.
